The Safer Society Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit agency, is a national research, advocacy, and referral center on the prevention and treatment of sexual abuse. Founded in 1964 as the Prison Research Education Action Project (P.R.E.A.P.) by Fay Honey Knopp, P.R.E.A.P. evolved into the Safer Society Program in 1985, and became the Safer Society Foundation, Inc. in 1995. The Safer Society Foundation, Inc. provides a variety of services, related to the prevention and treatment of sexual abuse.
