Teach responsible firearms use to your Kids!

Impeached President Clinton once declared that any rifle which is black and resembles a military firearm is designed "only for killing people".  12-year-old Rachael of Vermont apparently didn't get the message, as she enjoys shooting the Colt Sporter HBAR Match rifle at paper targets.   We sometimes wonder what kind of sick mind can only think of firearms in terms of the taking of human life.  Fortunately, that particular sick mind is now relegated to history.

About the NRA

The National Rifle Association of America is an organization of millions of members which was founded over 125 years ago to promote marksmanship skills. NRA is much more than the NRA that is seen on television battling unconstitutional gun laws.

NRA is responsible for training thousands of instructors who teach firearms safety, marksmanship and hunter safety courses throughout the country.

NRA is responsible for training law enforcement instructors who train thousands of police officers and sheriff's deputies every year.

NRA sanctions thousands of sporting competitive shooting events each year.

NRA CrimeStrike program works with the legislative and judicial systems around the nation to keep violent criminals off the street and in jail where they belong.

NRA Eddie Eagle program spreads the word about gun safety to children across the country.

NRA has programs for adults and children; men and women; experienced and novice shooters; hunters, competitors, recreational shooters, and those who own guns for protection; and even those who don't own guns and don't want to own a gun but want to learn how to avoid becoming the victim of crime.  NRA is involved in Hunter Safety and is responsible for the education of thousands of hunters every year. NRA is involved with Shooter Education and is responsible for the training of thousands of new gun owners every year.

Regular Membership

A one year NRA membership is $35, a three year membership is $85, and a five year membership is $125. If you do the arithmetic you'll see that a five year membership is the best deal as you not only save $50 but you are also protected from dues increases for the next five years.

Junior Membership

NRA doesn't neglect young folks.  Junior Membership is a special NRA membership for those 20 and under.   Junior Membership includes a special magazine, Insights,  which is oriented toward young people and the shooting sports.  Junior Members are not covered by the usual NRA insurance benefits and do not have voting rights.   Junior Membership is $15 per year.

Life Membership

NRA Life memberships are $750 for regular life membership. Junior Life Membership for those under 20 is $550, which converts to a regular Membership at age 20.

Benefits

NRA Membership benefits include a monthly magazine, either American Rifleman which is a general gun magazine, American Hunter which is a hunting magazine or the new American Guardian which is oriented toward home and personal protection. Other benefits include $1000 in firearms insurance with additional insurance available at low cost, $10,000 accidental death and dismemberment policy, a low interest VISA if you qualify, a decal for your car window to irritate the neighbors and a spiffy ball cap. As an NRA member you also have access to the vast resources of NRA for technical assistance, training, legal referrals, and legislative information.
