Hi everyone,
Due to circumstances beyond our control we are going to have to change location for the August 23-25 event that was to be in Austerlitz, NY. The land owner has suddenly become uncooperative and has made impossible demands on us.

Luckily we have been offered a much better site with indoors toilets and running water in the Village of Chatham, NY.  The fields are mowed and there is plenty of shade a room to enjoy ourselves.  I am sending directions on how to get there with this message. It is not much farther than Austerlitz and closer to town for shopping.    It is a community park and they have had Civil War encampments there before.

I am sorry for the lateness of this change but I was hoping to get through  to the owner that we don't make a lot of money doing these events.  Guess it didn't work.

Directions to Crellin Community Park

From Eastern Mass. & Conn

Get on Mass. Turnpike and go to the end. Get  off Exit B-3. At end of exit take a right. Go to Traffic light and take a  left on to Route 295. Stay on route 295 for about 12 miles. When you enter Chatham the speed limit is 30 miles per hour. You'll see a sign for Civil War Encampment. Take a right on to that street and you will see a rotary. Bear right and go down the hill. This is Center Street or Route 66. About 6 tenths of a  mile on the left is Crellin Community Park. There will be signs posted for  Registration.

From Torrington, Conn

Get on Route 8 and go to the end. Take a right on  to Route 44 and stay on Route 44 until you come to the light in Canaan,  Conn. Take a right on to this short street and a right on to route 7 at end  of road. Stay on route 7 until you get to Great Barrington, Mass. At 3rd  Traffic light go straight onto Route 41. Stay on 41 until you come to West  Stockbridge, MA. Take a left into Route 103 to the end. This is Route 22.  Take a left onto route 22 and go to Traffic light. Take a left on to route  295 . Stay on route 295 for about 12 miles. When you enter Chatham the speed  limit is 30 miles per hour. You'll see a sign for Civil War Encampment. Take  a right on to that street and you will see a rotary. Bear right and go down the hill. This is Center Street or Route 66. About 1 mile on the left is  Crellin Community Park. There will be signs posted for Registration.

From Clifton Park and Waterford

Get on I-90E and go to the end. Get on  Berkshire Spur Ext. and get off at Exit B-2. Take first exit after toll and  take a left at end of exit. Stay on this road til you come to a T. This is  Route 295. Take a right onto Route 295 and go about 6 miles to Chatham. When  you enter Chatham the speed limit is 30 miles per hour. You'll see a sign for Civil War Encampment. Take a right on to that street and you will see a rotary. Bear right and go down the hill. This is Center Street or Route 66. About 1 mile on the left is
Crellin Community Park. There will be signs posted for Registration.

From Vermont
(The following route detail is from Mapquest)

Get thee over to NY State and take I-87 south towards Albany.    Take the RT-7 E exit- exit number 6-7- towards   RT-2/TROY/COHOES / RT-7W/WATERVLIET/SCHENECTADY.   Keep RIGHT at the fork in the ramp.  Merge onto NY-7 E.  Take the I-787 S/RT-787 N exit towards ALBANY/COHOES.  Keep RIGHT at the fork in the ramp.  Merge onto I-787 S.   Take the I-90 exit- exit number 5- towards BOSTON/BUFFALO.  Keep LEFT at the fork in the ramp.  Merge onto I-90 E (Portions toll).  Take the I-90 E exit towards TACONIC PKWY/BOSTON.  Merge onto NEW YORK STATE TRWY E (Portions toll).   Take the TACONIC STATE PKWY/TACONIC PKWY exit- exit number B2- towards RT-295.   Merge onto TACONIC STATE PKWY S.  Take the RT-203 ramp towards AUSTERLITZ/CHATHAM.  Turn RIGHT onto NY-203.  See MAP of Chatham.

Alternate route from Vermont ( per Karen Pulver's email )

Get on route 9 and Stay on it until you get to Route 22. Take a Left onto route 22 and stay on it until you get to Canaan, NY. In New  Lebanon there is a blinking light, take a left this is still 22. If you go  straight you will be on route 20. In Canaan at the Traffic light take a right onto Route 295. Stay on route 295 for about 12 miles. When you enter Chatham the speed limit is 30 miles per hour. You'll see a sign for Civil War Encampment. Take a right on to that street and you will see a rotary. Bear right and go down the hill. This is Center Street or Route 66. About 1mile on the left is Crellin Community Park. There will be signs posted for Registration.

From Dutchess County/Hudson

Get on Route 66 in Hudson and stay on it until you get to Chatham.  Go straight at traffic light and go about 1 mile.  you'll go past the Train station and bear left.  this is Main Street/route 66.  go to Rotary and go around part way around it you will see a sign for toute 66 go right  onto Route 66/Center Street and go a mile the park is on the left. We will post signs at intersections to help yu find your way.  I am going to take pictures tonight of the site and email them to everyone.

I think you'll see its a lot better location.
